(Baltimore City NEP)

Baltimore City Needle Exchange is currently the one of the oldest confidential needle exchange program in the United States. The Baltimore City Needle Exchange Program (NEP) seeks to reduce HIV, hepatitis C, and other infections by reducing the circulation of unclean syringes. The program also helps drug users overcome addiction by linking them to drug treatment services. In addition, the program provides testing for syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis C. NEP is provided in 17 locations in the city of Baltimore.
