Deschutes County Syringe Exchange Program

Deschutes County Health Department

The purpose of our exchange is to allow staff and volunteers to provide syringe services as a Deschutes County Health Services (DCHS) program. Syringe services include syringe exchange and individualized risk screenings to promote harm reduction among persons who inject drugs (PWID). Syringe exchange reduces the transmission of blood-borne pathogens and helps PWID to monitor, mitigate and decrease risk behaviors.
