Overview
Florida Harm Reduction Initiative is based in Tallahassee, Florida and we seek to reduce the negative impacts associated with substance use at both the individual and community levels. We are a two person team of Harm Reduction advocates dedicated to combating overdose death in our community. FHRI promotes the empowerment of drug users and their allies as the primary agents in reducing drug related harms and actively engages with the community by peer to peer distribution of narcan, fentanyl test strips, sterile syringes, clean use kits, wound care kits, condoms, educational materials and provide narcan trainings at no cost to anyone in need. My partner and I work full time, have families, and have been making the time for promoting Harm Reduction in our area despite having to use our own money for everything but narcan. We are also a member organization of the Florida Harm Reduction Collective.
