The Greater Hartford Harm Reduction Coalition (GHHRC) is dedicated to promoting the dignity and wellbeing of individuals and communities impacted by drug use. GHHRC holds that every individual deserves a participatory voice in the public dialogue regarding drug use policies, programs and practices. Through advocacy, training and service, GHHRC aims to ensure the availability, adequacy, accessibility and acceptability of services and resources that remediate the adverse consequences of drug use.

GHHRC’s Syringe exchange will support these Secondary networks with sterile equipment and tailored services, in addition to offering individual Syringe exchange services to others on an on-call as needed basis by telephone or appointment at our main office..

You can access these services anytime by calling 860-250-4146. With changing communities, gentrification, and shifting drug trends, it is clear that public health policies must respond by promoting practices that reach the most at-risk communities. Research has shown that SSE is a highly effective strategy for expanding the coverage to deliver safer injection materials and information to this highly vulnerable population.
