Family Centers is a nonprofit organization offering education and human services to lower Fairfield County. More than 18,000 children, adults and families receive the care, encouragement and resources they need to realize their potential. tamford CARES a program of Family Centers, Inc., is a community based program and licensed mental health agency providing medical case management, mental health services, medical transportation, emergency financial assistance, food, oral health, Early Intervention Services, health insurance assistance and housing assistance to persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in the Stamford region. The Stamford CARES Program was established in 1986 in response to the complex needs of people living with HIV/AIDS, and operates as the coordinating program of HIV care in Stamford. Stamford CARES also provides free, rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing. Tests are available by walk in, appointment, and at various locations throughout Stamford.
