Overview
Up North Harm Reduction (UNHR) is a community-based harm reduction organization that works with people who use drugs (PWUD) throughout Shasta County. UNHR’s current primary focus is to support the active improvement in the health of our community by supporting positive changes in the lives of people we serve, slowing the spread of preventable diseases and other related infections by providing education on safer use practices, drug testing tools, overdose prevention and community resources for further medical, housing and food support. Other services offered include distribution of naloxone, safer sex supplies and education, fentanyl test strips, xylazine test strips, collection and safe disposal of used syringes, provision of sterile syringes and safer injection supplies, provision of safer smoking supplies and other harm reduction supplies as needed and identified specifically by the PWUD we serve in community.
